A special, Valentine’s Day in-branch display for homeowners who want to cast out clutter, and create a more harmonious, energetic home in 2012!
Find your “chi”….
Stop by CitizensFirst anytime between 4-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14th to see how you can use Feng Shui decorating and organizing to achieve better success in your life, wealth and home. Feng shui expert, Pam Kai Tollefson, president of Feng Shui Design in the Milwaukee area, will be in the lobby displaying how her clients have utilized basic feng shui design principles in the home, and will be available to answer questions homeowners might have about how to integrate feng shui into their own homes (feel free to bring in photos of specific rooms for a quick consultation!). Tollefson founded The Feng Shui Design Institute as a resource for people in Chicago and the Midwest, and has been a Feng Shui consultant in the Chicago and Milwaukee area since 1992.
Feng shui, the ancient Chinese study of the movement of energy (or “chi”) in buildings and homes, has been practiced for thousands of years. The Chinese believe that simply changing the colors, furniture placement and organization of your home can bring about positive changes to your health, wealth and happiness. In recent years, U.S. homeowners have begun to study and implement the ancient art, as evidenced by HGTV’s 2008 show “Fun Shui” and the numerous articles found online more recently dedicated to the topic.
"I think feng shui is more accepted now," says Tollefson. "I see [clients] who are using it when they want to sell their houses or even when they're having bad luck. As times get tougher, people are looking for more answers."
…and get organized!
Getting your space organized is a critical step in achieving feng shui design in your home. That’s why Oshkosh’s own Carly Miller, owner of Organize, Create, Design (or, O.C.D. for short!) who will also be in the lobby on Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 4-6:30 p.m., displaying success stories from clients she has helped to put things in their place, and will be on-hand to get tips and tricks for organizing trouble spots in the home.
