Wire Transfer FAQs
What information do I need to send a wire transfer?
Wire transfers are a great way to get money from here to there quickly, but unfortunately have come under great scrutiny lately. To ensure your wire transfer goes smoothly, please be sure that your member records are up-to-date*, and that you have the following pieces of information available:
  • Name of the financial institution you are sending the wire transfer to
  • Name, address and routing number of your primary financial institution
  • Account number, account holder name, address and type of account you will be depositing the funds into (checking, savings, etc.)
*To verify the authenticity of the wire transfer, CitizensFirst will originate a phone call to the telephone number of record and ask a security question. Therefore, if making a wire transfer request by cell phone, please have your cell number listed on your CitizensFirst member record in order for CitizensFirst to complete the transaction.
Is there a limit to the amount I can transfer by wire?
We can wire transfers up to $5,000 by telephone; other restrictions may apply.
